Self-improv-ment

The principles of improvisational comedy are relatively simple. They also happen to be life principles worthy of aspiring to.  Listen, honor relationships, commit fully, avoid questions – declare and accept what you’ve declared, be present, keep it simple, let it breathe, and the list goes on.  And the grand unifying principle: agree and add (“yes, and”).

I’ve been taking improv classes at Unscrewed Theater, and I’m having a blast.  I got tired of just being a fan of it and decided to jump into participating.  The house troupe at Unscrewed is oodles of fun, and so far the classes have tickled my Dog Brain in all the right places.
