Cat Brain rule: when confronted with an overwhelming amount of immediacy, panic and flee into isolation and safety. Dog Brain rule: when a new and exciting thing presents itself, MAKE IT YOUR FRIEND RIGHT NOW!
So Lyra treed one of the next door cats. Poor thing ended up staying up there all night and was still there when I left for the airport.
Hope she managed to figure out that the dog isn’t coming to the backyard for a day or two, and it’s safe to come back down and go back to her roof, where she usually chills.
Featured image: hard to see, but there’s a little calico chilling up in that tree, just waiting. And watching.
